CONSCOV Hosts Potential Partner From Belgian University

On April 19, 2023, Sarah Terwecoren from HoGent University, Belgium, visited Gulu University and held a discussion with the BSU team which is managing the CONSCOV project. They discussed possibilities for collaboration between the two universities.

Terwecoren, who has been engaged in projects on street children for 17 years, was attracted to Gulu by CONSCOV’s attention to socially excluded youth in Gulu City, locally known as aguu.

The Gulu team included the CONSCOV Principal Investigator Dr. Agatha Alidri, and research assistants Patrick Ocien and Patrick Kabwijamu.

The two teams agreed to collaborate, among other things, in raising funds to support projects for socially excluded youth. This will involve approaching the Belgian government for support. They also proposed student exchange visits between both universities.

Terwecoren informed the CONSCOV team that there could be opportunities for Gulu students to study in Belgium, in Social Sciences at Masters level.
